Staying local: Mark and Aly Estee
By Vicki Kahn
Special to the Sun,
TAHOE/TRUCKEE – Mark Estee and Aly Digesti said “I do” Saturday, Oct. 2 at
Whitehall Lane Winery in St. Helena, Calif. in the glorious autumn colors,
surrounded by 90 of their closest family and friends. Local artist and
gallery owner Andrew Bolam officiated at the ceremony. Best man was Craig
Estee with groomsmen including Owen Estee (Mark’s son), Matthew Digesti,
Marcus Digesti and Imran Ali. The bride was attended by maid of honor Summer
Edwards, La Risa Renner, Jill Carpenter, Kristin Smith, Laura Ali (Mark’s
sister) and Jenny Anderson.
Estee, who has ownership in two Truckee restaurants, Moody’s Bistro and
Burger Me and Baxter’s Bistro in Northstar, planned the wedding menu and
hand selected chefs Guy Frenette (executive chef at Moody’s), Northstar
Executive Chef Chris Banovich, and Arturo Mosconne (a close friend of the
couple and executive chef at Spanish Bay Resort in Pebble Beach) to kick it
up a notch for the exceptional nuptial dining experience. Highlights of the
hors d’oeuvres and dinner included clam chowder in espresso cups, lobster
rolls, jumbo sea scallop, jumbo prawn, Colorado lamb chop and Kobe cullotte
mixed grill on top of truffled risotto and Gary Romano’s greens. The couple
honeymooned pre-wedding in Italy in June, and post wedding they relaxed at
the Ventana Inn and Spa in Big Sur for five days…..
