With the experience gained from training professional athletes and general population clients, Marc has created program guidelines he utilizes to reach each client’s individual goals, including:
- Injury and Medical History
- Body Composition
- 7 site caliper test
- Height/Weight
- Waist to Hip circumference
- Performance Goals
- Short/Long Term
- Functional Movement Screen
- Document asymmetries through 7 movement patterns
- Document pain through 7 movement patterns
- Document compensative patterns through 7 movement patterns
PerformancEDU’s training philosophy is simple-evaluate the body while relating to functional movement, understand the bodies frontal and posterior chain, and prescribe and implement specific exercises and progressions to maximize athletic performance.
Cameron Clarkson: Performance Ski Coach
Director of Ski Operations at Sky Tavern | Race Team Coach Far West
Cameron Clarkson was born in Reno, Nevada in 1969, and spent his life in the Reno area.
Cam started skiing when he was five. The first time he skied was, of course, at Mt Rose. He was taken to the top of
Northwest and it took him three hours to get down. He remembered telling his parents, “I WILL NEVER SKI AGAIN!”
Fortunately, he got over it. After that he was enrolled in the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program and learned to ski and
became interested in ski racing, after graduating to the highest level that Sky Tavern had to offer.
Cam grew up ski racing in NASTAR and was on Wooster High School Race Team (Go Wooster!!). He raced all through
high school, making it to Nevada State Championship in his senior year.
Cam took a few years off from skiing and racing while attending college at University of Nevada, Reno and University of
Nevada, Las Vegas and after graduation he returned to Reno to start a career in accounting.
Cam’s best friend called and invited him up to Jackson Hole, WY to enter an “open invite” downhill race. Of course he
went and within seconds he remembered how amazing racing made him feel… and he started training full-time.
By 1999, Cam was racing with the Far West Racing Association and the Sierra League and in no time he was winning
races and climbing up to the leader board.
In 2002 he started skiing and working for Head skis, Uvex goggles and Holmenkol wax. As he got faster, he started
entering more challenging races and in 2003 he started entering races with the USSA Far West Masters. Unfortunately,
a bad fall on a training course landed him in the hospital with a broken leg and put his racing career on hold for a few
years, but in his heart he never left the snow. While recovering from his injury, he received a call from Chris Bender on
behalf of Sky Tavern, asking him to help coach junior athletes, and that’s how he came to join the Sky Tavern Ski Racing
Team.
Cam loves skiing and ski racing. He tells us there is nothing more exhilarating than flying down a mountain at the edge
of losing control and pushing your body to the limits; and on top of that not getting in trouble for it!

This man has all the tools needed to be one of, if the not the best, trainer in Northern NV and CA. i have been training with Marc for the last 5 weeks and have started to undersatnd my body and fitness in a whole new way. i am super impressed with his knowledge, passion and ability to break down technical information into bite size pieces i can get my mind around.
It is easy to train and educate someone like Mark Estee. He brings a dynamic every morning on the training floor which I have only seen from a few. Thank you for bringing the energy and commitment each day. The pleasure is all mine brotha.
