Ask Your Coach A Question
How does a person’s particular body come into play when designing an effective fitness routine?
There are several factors that can affect an individual’s program design. You have to start with their needs. Structural limitations and stability weaknesses need to be corrected first. The body can’t perform correctly with movement dysfunction. Second, you must adapt a program around issues that can not be corrected, such as arthritis, surgical limitations, or congenital issues. Finally, you have to assess a client’s capabilities. Some bodies are designed for speed or strength, or endurance. You have to build a program around optimizing a client’s peak potential. Ryan Golec
